These jars are a science inspired alternative to mason jars and look great filled with spices, seashells, or natural oddities.

Our jars are great for storing dry goods or liquids but they are sensitive to sudden or extreme changes in temperature, which may cause the lids to stick or cracks in the jars. They are not recommended for use in the refrigerator or freezer.

This jar features a ground glass stopper. The molded glass stopper is embossed with the size "2500 ml". The jars are also known as "reagent bottles" in the chemistry lab. Approximately 11.25" tall with lid, 10.25" tall without, The base measures 5.5 across and the opening is 3 inches in diameter. Clear jars in this size are available with or without volume markings on the side.

Please note that these jars are the inexpensive, ordinary flint glass type jars like you might find a school chemistry lab. They are not perfectly photogenic jars; the bubbles, swirls and other inclusions are a natural product of glassblowing and are not considered a defect. If you need flawless, precision ground jars, we recommend Wheaton borosilicate reagent bottles.

See this article for tips on caring for your reagent bottle and removing a stuck lid.
